Nigerian born Ayo Aloba moved to Austria at the age of nine. His performing debut came when he got cast as one of the singing & dancing acts in Michael Jackson’s award winning “Dangerous” Tour-Live in Vienna, 1992.
The years spent studying in an international school in the Czech Republic and touring with a renowned Dance Ensemble across Europe encouraged him to pursue the performing arts further.
After his formal training at Rose Bruford Drama School in London, Ayo made his film debut in the BBC’s documentary-drama “ The Extraordinary Equinao”, in which he played the young Olaudah Equiano , the first influential African who bought his freedom from slavery.
That same year he went on to have more notable stage appearances such as in Paul Robeson’s stage production of “Who Killed Mr Drum?”
The show’s success garnered notable reviews from Timeout Magazine, The Guardian, The Independent, Sunday Telegraph and many more.
Ayo has also lent his voice to the platform of Radio appearing in some episodes of “Urban Scrawl” and as a voice over artist for the 2 Simple’s Software animation “A Midsummer’s Night Dream” — a unique animation that engages children with the works of William Shakespeare.
While continuing to strengthen and develop his craft both on stage and on camera, he is highly active in various causes, particularly human rights and youth advocacy.
